Pteryla Records is an independent record label, founded in 2021 by Sophie A. P. Higginson. Originally established as a platform to release her own music, the label quickly evolved into something far greater. Through Sophie’s extensive collaboration with some of the world’s largest record labels, she developed a deep understanding of the industry’s systemic flaws which include: unfair contracts, the stifling of creative freedom, and exploitation of artists to only name a few. Determined to drive change, she envisioned Pteryla Records as a revolutionary alternative to the traditional record label model.

At Pteryla Records, we are committed to fostering an environment where artists across all genres can freely express their creativity without the constraints of unrealistic expectations or oppressive commercial demands. We prioritise fairness and transparency, ensuring that every artist we work with retains full ownership of their creations while receiving equitable royalty percentages.
